Backup & Recovery Engineering
Isolated backups for databases and Linux infrastructure, retention planning, restore validation and documented recovery procedures.
A successful backup job is only the beginning. I help build a recovery process with separate copies, restricted access, useful alerts and a restore procedure tested against an agreed scenario.

What I work on
- MySQL / Percona database backups and Linux application data.
- Separate backup hosts, off-host copies and pull-based collection where appropriate.
- Restricted SSH access, service accounts and scoped permissions.
- Retention, storage capacity and encryption appropriate to the environment.
- Backup freshness alerts and restore validation.
What you receive
REVIEW & PLAN — assessment and recovery design
- REVIEW: an assessment of backup coverage, retention, isolation and recovery readiness.
- PLAN: the assessment plus a recommended backup design, implementation steps and restore-test checklist.
- These packages do not install backup jobs or carry out a production restore.
IMPLEMENT — production delivery
- Agreed backup jobs, retention rules, access controls and status notifications.
- An agreed restore test with recorded results and a recovery runbook.
We agree on recovery point and recovery time objectives (RPO / RTO). Achievable recovery times depend on data size, infrastructure and test results; a backup schedule alone does not guarantee them.
Scope and data volume are confirmed before work. Storage, hosting, ongoing maintenance, emergency recovery and 24/7 support are quoted separately.

Each package is a separate engagement; you do not need to purchase all three. Scope and deliverables are agreed before work. Implementation starts from €999; the final quote depends on system count, complexity and the changes required. Storage, hosting, emergency recovery and ongoing operation are quoted separately.
