DevOps & Infrastructure Engineering

Linux, Proxmox, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, backups and high availability: practical infrastructure assessment, implementation planning and production delivery.

Build, improve and operate infrastructure with a clear change process. I help with a defined task or a wider infrastructure project, from assessment and design to agreed production implementation.

Discuss your infrastructure → · Packages & pricing →

Infrastructure

  • Linux server installation, configuration, access controls and service management.
  • Proxmox virtualization and Docker / Docker Compose deployments.
  • Networks, DNS, VPN and firewall configuration within the agreed environment.
  • Repeatable configuration with Ansible and operational scripts.

CI/CD & Deployment

  • GitLab CI and Forgejo Actions pipelines for builds, checks and deployment.
  • Environment configuration, secret references and deployment permissions.
  • Validation steps, controlled releases and recovery instructions.

Monitoring & Backup

  • Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix monitoring for agreed hosts and services.
  • Actionable notifications, availability checks and backup freshness signals.
  • Backup isolation, retention and documented restore validation.

For a focused engagement, see Monitoring & Alerting → or Backup & Recovery →.

High Availability

  • Service redundancy, load balancing and failure-mode assessment.
  • HAProxy, Keepalived and agreed failover scenarios.
  • Migration and maintenance planning with verification and recovery steps.

For database-specific performance, replication and clusters, see Database Engineering →.

What you receive

REVIEW & PLAN — assessment and implementation design

  • REVIEW: an assessment of the agreed infrastructure, deployment processes and operational risks.
  • PLAN: the assessment plus architecture recommendations, priorities and an implementation sequence.
  • These packages do not deploy or modify production systems.

IMPLEMENT — production delivery

  • Agreed infrastructure configuration, deployment workflows or reliability improvements.
  • Validation, a controlled rollout and documentation for the delivered scope.
  • Configuration and automation source files where applicable.

How the work runs

  1. Describe your systems, current problems and the outcome you need.
  2. We agree on scope, deliverables, access and a change window.
  3. I assess, plan or implement according to the selected package.
  4. You receive the findings, plan or production handover for your package.

Ongoing operation, incident response and 24/7 coverage are agreed separately. Stateful changes need their own recovery plan; reverting configuration does not restore data.

Indicative delivery times start after the agreed kickoff and receipt of the required access and information. Scope, dependencies and maintenance windows may affect the schedule; timing is confirmed before work.

Each package is a separate engagement; you do not need to purchase all three. Scope and deliverables are agreed before work. Implementation starts from €999; the final quote depends on system count, complexity and the changes required. Hosting, paid tools and ongoing maintenance are quoted separately.
